| Only a few hours old. |
We welcomed our son, Elijah Timothy Choronzy, into our family on February 6, 2012 at 2:25pm. He weighed a whopping 9lbs 1oz and is 21in long. I was able to labor to 9cm until I got stuck there for several hours. It was determined that the baby's head was posterior (facing up instead of down) and since the doctor couldn't get his head to turn, we decided a c-section would be best. At this point we had no idea that Elijah was so big! Once out, Tim and I were happy with our decision and just as shocked as everyone else that Eli was 9lbs!
We chose the name Elijah, because Elijah in the Bible was a man who stood for God when no one else would. We hope that our Elijah will someday do the same. It has been a huge adjustment but also a huge joy to have Elijah finally here. I am recovering well from surgery and we are all settling in to our life as a family of three. It's so hard to believe that just over a week ago, we still didn't know who the little guy inside of me was. And now we can't imagine life without him. God has truly blessed our family.
