We're ready...
...and waiting...
We just need a baby!
With my due date only 11 days away, Tim and I (along with just about everyone else we know) are anxiously waiting for our little one to make their debut. We have had baby clothes, gear, diapers, blankets, toys etc. in our apartment for months, but they are now all washed, assembled, organized, and put away. We have read baby name books and taken suggestions for 38 weeks, but now have it narrowed down to just two (wouldn't you like to know what they are? :) ). We have wondered for almost 9 months if we are going to have a son or a daughter. And now we (not so)patiently wait for the moment when we get to use the clothes, diapers, carseat, and name on our son or daughter.
Sometimes it feels as if we've been waiting forever and other times it seems as if we just found out we were to be a family of three. Tim and I are excited to be parents, but also humbled by the fact that God has blessed us with a life to nurture and teach to love Him. It is a huge responsibility and a great blessing that we can hardly wrap our minds around. But we pray each day that He will guide us and teach us how along the way.
Now we just need our baby!

Beginnings
As we quickly approach the birth of our first child, we realize that we need a place where our family and friends can stay updated on our life as a family of three. The main purpose of this blog is to share stories about our family and post pictures of our little one. Our hope is that you would be encouraged as we seek out God's will for our family.
It is crazy to think that we will be parents in less than four weeks (probably), and the topic of parenting has surfaced on an almost daily occasion. We feel God has brought us some verses that describe the way we want to raise our family.

5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. - Deuteronomy 6: 5-9
These verses are a huge challenge for parents to constantly show their children how to love God and to seek Him out with every fiber of their being. We pray that God would give us the strength to be the parents He wants us to be.
